On behalf of the men and women of the Dickinson Police Department, I am pleased to welcome you to our website.  Our continuing goal is to make the city of Dickinson a safe place in which to live, work and play.  We are committed to maintaining and improving the quality of life of the city during this time of rapid growth, by actively partnering with community members and being innovative in our policing strategies.

We are proud to serve the residents of Dickinson in many ways.  Our Department is responsible for helping to prevent crime, patrolling neighborhoods, responding to calls for service, investigating crimes, arresting offenders and working closely with the community to identify and solve neighborhood problems.  We also provide educational and outreach programs to assist the residents and youth of our community.  Our ongoing commitment is to continue to provide the highest quality, professional, and courteous service to our community.

On Saturday, March 25th at approximately 1650hrs, a North Dakota Higway Patrol Trooper requested K-9 assistance with a traffic stop he had initiated west of Dickinson on Interstate 94. DPD Sgt. Corey Lee and his dual purpose K-9 partner "Gambit" responded. Gambit alerted on the vehicle and a subsequent search revealed approximately 30lbs of suspected Marijuana and 2lbs of Hashish. 24yoa Ivan Mares and 20yoa Angel Diaz-Vargas (both of Klamath Falls, OR) were arrested by the NDHP and transported to the Southwest Multi-County Correctional Center where they were lodged. Mares was charged with Possession of Schedule IV Controlled Substance w/Intent to Distribute (B-Felony) and Possession of Schedule V Controlled Substance w/Intent to Distribute (C-Felony). Officer Promoted to Corporal

Officer Jason Wallace was recently promoted to the rank of Corporal during a recent ceremony at the Dickinson Public Safety Center. Corporal Wallace started his career as a dispatcher, and was hired as an officer in 2014. His good work ethic and natural leadership skills assisted him in getting promoted to Corporal.
