Two of Dickinson's newest officers were sworn in at tonight's city commission meeting.

Officer Nate Slack comes to us from Ohio. He says one of his life-long goals has been to relocate, and really enjoys the small town feeling. He is currently assigned to A Shift and is about halfway through his field training.

Officer Troy Machovsky comes from the Grand Forks area. He is an Army veteran, and relocates to Dickinson with his family. He is currently assigned to B shift.

New officers spend 12 weeks in our department's field training program, and then attend formal police basic training in Bismarck, which is generally an additional 12 weeks.
